Big Butter and Egg is a fun and exciting five-piece band playing vintage jazz standards from the 20s, 30s, and 40s, Retro Swing, Dixieland, New Orleans, plus many international tunes (Italian, Japanese, Spanish, French, and Australian).

Larry Martinez -- Banjo and guitar virtuoso, played for many years at Disneyland and was the featured touring soloist for Anne Margret.

Petey Devine -- Drummer, is a nationally renowned percussionist and plays with a variety of groups, including his own jug band and Bo Grumpus.

Paul Smith -- Bass player, tours regularly with Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks.

Tommy Small -- Trombonist and bandleader, toured New Zealand and Australia with the Stanford Orchestra in 2005.

John Dodgshon -- Cornet player, is a journeyman pro who has played with many of the Bay Area's best jazz bands.

Big Butter and Egg has played regularly for the past three years at Nora's Cafe and Scott's Seafood Restaurant in Palo Alto, was the official jazz band of the San Jose CyberRays and the Silicon Valley Football Classic, and has played many public, private and charity events around the Bay Area.

I am the owner of Nora's Cafe in Palo Alto. For the past 15 months (since Dec. of 2004) Big Butter and Egg has performed at my restaurant every other Saturday night.
